Won't you be my neighbor??

We discovered an amazing jewel a few months ago. This discovery was that the Hamricks lived a few houses down from us on our street. What a gift from the Lord!!!! We have loved getting to know them and hanging out with them. They have the sweetest little boy, Joshua, who will hopefully one day, be a good buddy of Joaquin's!!!!

The animals

At the fall carnival, they had a full petting zoo. Joaquin rode the pony, petted goats and most importantly, talked to the baby chicks (which were his favorite).

Fall Carnival

Our sweet neighbors invited us to their churches fall party. It was a ton of fun. Joaquin loved the playground (and has no fear) and clapped for himself as he was swinging.

The little frog loves his great-grandparents!

This weekend, Grandma Lu and Grandpa Richard agreed to come to stay the night Saturday, to babysit Joaquin, so Carlos and I could go to the Razorback game (Thanks mom and dad for tickets!) Joaquin was so excited to see them and thinks they are a blast!! Thanks so much GiGi Rich and GiGi Lu for taking care of our little frog!!

Little Frog

Thanks to a sweet hand me down from Kim and Brax, Joaquin was a frog this year for Fall Carnivals. It was so fun to see him as a cute little frog.

Asheville, NC Wedding Weekend

Last weekend, mom and dad graciously agreed to keep Joaquin, so that Carlos and I could drive to Asheville, NC to see our good friends get married. Jeremy and Karissa are both in the residency that Carlos graduated from. They are such an amazing couple and we love them both, so naturally, we were so excited to see them get married. They planned a great weekend around Asheville. We were able to go to an apple orchard, watch lots of football, eat at some fun places, and of course attend a beautiful outdoor wedding on a farm!!! We also got to spend time with some of our greatGreenwood friends that we miss a lot!!

GO Minnesota Twins!!

Uncle Joel came for his fall break from Law school from some rest, relaxation, studying and visiting. We were so glad to get to see him a few times. Joel bought Joaquin the cutest Minnesota Twins hoodie and so we needed to try it on for size. It fit great. Thanks Uncle Joel for visiting!!!! (As you can tell, Joaquin loves Uncle Joel).

Joaquin wants so share something...........!

Yes...that's right. It's official. The Acosta family is going to be a family of 4 on or around June 4, 2011. That means that we are 7 weeks pregnant. We are so thankful for what the Lord has already given us and are praying for this little life inside of me that is the size of a blueberry!!! :)

Make way for Ducklings!!

There is a great park that is right near Carlos's work, so today, Carlos met us there when he finished. It is full of ducks. Joaquin wasn't quite sure what to do at first. He wanted to pet them, but they really weren't up for that. Once he found that they didn't mind him running through the center of the group of them, he LOVED it. It reminded me of the book we used to read over and over as kids called Make Way for Ducklings. If you haven't read it, you should. It's adorable. We hope to visit this park a lot through the years!

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend, we went to a Pumpkin Patch for the first time as a family. It was a lot of fun. There were a lot of people there, lots of great pumpkins and beautiful land to look at. Joaquin really liked riding in the cart with the pumpkins. We will for sure make this a yearly outing!

Toddler's best friend!!

We don't let the dogs into the house very often, but when we do, Joaquin gets SO excited. He wears the dogs out by following them, petting them, talking to them and crawling all over them. Here are a few pictures of Dantes and Joaquin.

The Fair

We recently went to a fair that was near Carlos's work. Joaquin was too little to go on most things, but he did get to ride the train, which he loved driving. He also got to ride on the elephant ride with daddy. This was a fun fair for us because a lot of Carlos's patients were there. We are trying to figure out ways to connect with them outside of the clinic.
