We are so honored that Joaquin is named after such an amazing man!! The man in the middle is Carlos's grandfather (Carlos's dad's dad). He was an awesome man of God, a great family man and lived a great life. We are so glad that little Joaquin has such an amazing namesake!!

Carlos's mom shared these pictures with me from when Carlos was 1 month old. I was blown about by how much Joaquin looks like Carlos!! I love it!!!!

GiGi Joan and Papa Louie sent Joaquin this sweet little Chick. It is actually bigger then Joaquin right now :) And it is very soft. Thanks Gigi Joan and Papa Louie...we love it!!!!

La Familia

We have had a lot of help with our little monkey!! My mom came for 2 weeks...my dad visited for a weekend, Carlos's mom came for 2 weeks and then his dad, sister and grandmother came for Easter. Joaquin got a lot of good time with his Gram, Pops, Abuela, Visabuela, abuelo and tia!!! We are so thankful for all the people that love and care for Joaquin! He loves his family!!

Carlos and Joaquin love to hang out on the couch together and watch March Madness.

Sleeping a little bit in between feeding!!
Pops came to visit and introduced Joaquin to Starbucks....looking but no drinking yet.
Kim and Brax have taken a new picture each month with the bear from Gram and Pops....so we decided to continue to tradition. Our bear is smaller.....but it still works! :) This is Joaquin at 2 weeks old.

Mama' and Papa'

We are overwhelmed and excited with the responsibility of being new parents. We want so badly for this little one to fall in love with Jesus!! Please pray with us that God uses us in his life daily to teach him how much the Lord loves him!! Please pray that Carlos and I are faithful in our relationship with the Lord. We truly appreciate already the outpouring of prayer that we, as a family, have gotten!!!
We have had such a great first week with our sweet Joaquin (which is pronounced 'Wa-keen'!) He is a miracle child and a gift from the Lord. We chose his name for 2 reasons. First, it is Carlos's Grandfather's name. Second, it means, God will establish. God really has established Joaquin in our life as a huge show of God's love. We are overwhelmed!!!!! Praise Him. Things are going well....sleep is scarce, but Joaquin is eating well and sleeping some. He is healthy and he is doing great.
He absolutely loves to use his arms for everything. We have to swaddle him to feed him, and it never fails that his arms start to work their way up to his face. He must have spent a lot of time like that in the womb!!!

He also has been very alert! He has Carlos's big brown eyes, which I think are so adorable (I'm a little bias!!)

Nursery

It has been a lot of fun getting the nursery ready for the March arrival. Mom Addington came this past week to help me sew some sweet things for the room. It is all coming together. There won't be anything on the walls until lil' acosta comes because it would give up the name! :) We are praying and thanking the Lord for this little miracle and can't wait to meet him soon!

First shower for baby Acosta

Mom Acosta, Fanny and Abuela hosted an awesome baby shower for Lil' Boy Acosta. They went all out. We had a great time with lots of friends and family. I am so grateful for everything that was done for our family!!!

Christmas in Miami

Carlos and I were able to spend Christmas in Miami with the Acosta family. It was a wonderful time with lots of laughter, singing and driving around in Miami. We are so so thankful for the Acosta family and had a wonderful time getting to spend a week with them. Jesus is the reason for the season.

Pregnant cheeks/eyes

Recently we decided to document the changing cheeks and eyes in the pregnancy. I think you could call it a mother's look! :) Carlos was making me laugh, so these are silly pictures.
